Gary is a qualified maths and physics teacher with 23 years experience in teaching and over 10 years experience timetabling, utilising many different types of timetabling software on the market. Gary has created timetables using First Class, TimeChart, Timetabler and Edval for schools as small as 300 students and schools as large as 1400 students.
He has been a keynote speaker at Easter Regional timetabling conferences and conducted several surveys and meetings with timetablers to determine best practice and share it with the region. At a local level Gary led a committee in1997 to investigate and implement the change to a 10 day cycle.
In 2006 he is a Leading Teacher at Doncaster Secondary College and is guiding the Strategic Planning Committee exploring timetable structures involving different length periods to improve student engagement and encourage authentic learning. His extensive experience across many systems led him to recognise Edval as the leading technology and joined our team in 2005. Gary is well qualified to analyse source data from schools currently using any of these other packages, to facilitate migrating the data into Edval.
Gary enjoys solving complex timetable puzzles, and is renowned for his dedication in spending hours manually adjusting a schools rooming to reduce the travel time between classes, or resolving other similar fine grained issues to ensure a quality product.
