Automatic data import
Edval can import your existing timetable data automatically in seconds, regardless of the original structure or column order, including:
- Automatically recognising column headings in the source data, regardless of column or row orders. Variants are also understood such as either Code or TCode for a teacher code column.
- Automatically recognising the data itself. A column of short numeric entries and are unique (no duplications) is more likely to be auto-matched to a code field than a surname field for example.
- Edval both reports in text and shows you graphically the data mapping it has determined automatically, and allows you to drag and drop to reassign any data association it did not understand or mapped incorrectly. Edval even shows you problems in your data import such as perhaps duplicate student names.
- Edval supports automatic import of all data including rooms, teachers, classes, class lists, students, student elective preferences, and even entire timetables. More complex variants are also supported such as data in rows or columns, as well as specific support of import from other timetable software packages. Edval even supports data merging on import, which adds new entries or ‘updates’ some fields only.
