Automatic analysis of requirements
Edval can analyse your timetable requirements automatically in seconds, including:
- Report very high level considerations such as poor choice in staffing, inability to satisfy rooming
- Problems found with virtually any conceivable timetable issue are reported clearly with suggested steps to resolve them. Often Edval reports complex latent clashes or indirect problems which result from a chain of events such as perhaps there are two teachers who could take a particular Yr11 class, except that one of them can’t teach on Tuesdays yet this class is in the TAFE line so is locked to Tuesdays, so the other teacher is ‘actually’ now forced to take it, but can’t because they are also on the TAFE line in the other year so would clash if these classes were actually scheduled. Or there are four possible teachers for three classes, yet due to linked classes another year is already booking two of these teachers so there will only be two left for the three classes. Edval will clearly report this complex latent clash, despite it not involving any one specific teacher
- Edval’s powerful clash matrix shows requirement clashes very clearly – i.e. involving all resource options, not any particular one. It graphically shows pinch points or quality issues that are present even before a single class is scheduled to the grid
