Full automation allows fine control over timetable constraints. Edval allows you to specify a given teacher prefers a certain room or subject, or prefers to teach certain days. Weighting of all constraints allows the smallest of preferences to be incorporated in the final solution, which is far more difficult to accomplish manually.
